Certified Rolfer ™

Matt at Work

About Matt

After years of chronic tension from athletics, Matt was referred to a Certified Rolfer. Rolfing's whole body approach appealed to his interest in holistic treatments. By the conclusion of the Ten Series, Matt's physical condition had improved to a state he had not experienced in nearly a decade.

His experience convinced him of the effectiveness of Rolfing®, and his desire to offer this experience to others. In Matt's practice he relies on his training at the Rolf Institute for Structural Integration® and his experience working with athletes as a coach for more than a decade.

What to Expect

A complete initial Rolfing treatment of ten to thirteen sessions is arranged in natural segments that address related areas of the body. Individual sessions are typically 75-90 minutes long. They are scheduled at convenient intervals ranging from one week to one month. Clients wear clothes that allow the Certified Rolfer to observe the body's structure, typically underwear, bathing suit or spandex workout clothes.

During the sessions the Certified Rolfer and the client systematically address different areas, tissues and layers of the body. Using fingers, hands, and elbows, the Certified Rolfer slowly works through layers of tissue to release built up tension. Results can be dramatic.
